So much confusion, so little time. We see on these pages and others the result of people not listening when they are in chuch and not asking questions of others when they visit with others of their faith. I too had wrong headed notions when I was younger, but after putting on some years and asking a lot of questions, the truth dawned. Faith is very important, but faith without works is dead. (faith) It is all in how you view what God intends for us to do. Know where in the Bible can one find justification for believing one is "saved". It is a continual and ongoing process that requires work everyday. If we could be saved, why would the Bible refer to the wise and foolish virgins and those that were taken (to heaven) and those who were left. Yes, the OALC has many people asking questions about some of the things they do and believe, but there is a biblical reason for most if not all of them.The problem of lawbreakers is a common complaint, but we are not without sin, and every problem that exists in other groups exists with us, sorry to say. But all churchs treat those who get in trouble with the law the same way, and they counsel them but do not turn them in to the authorities. Nor do the poice expect them too.The BIG DEAL here seems to be people don't like to feel GUILTY. I am sorry, but you and I sin every day, and that sin hung Jesus on the cross. We are guilty and we should not feel like it is not big deal, BUT we should ask those who we have sinned with :against : in the presence of: to forgive us. And then pray to God for forgiveness and do our very best to do better. With all of us there is much room for improvement, just look at some of the hate and anger expressed in some of thes blogs.May the peace of God be with you. The prairie poet
